Oh what a thing to do.

I crossed something off my 30 before 30 list: See Coldplay live. And it did not disappoint.

This was my last concert for the summer and it was the perfect one to end on. There is something about hearing songs live that you have loved since you were a twelve year old begging the radio to play Clocks, or since your tenth birthday when you first heard Yellow on your Now 6 cd, or in the summer if ’05 when your sister’s roommate threatens to kick you out if you say anything bad about the X & Y album.

I’ve loved them for a long time and hearing them live was a great way to reach back and high five my younger self.

Harry Potter Dream.

We went to universal studios, specifically to experience life in Harry Potter world, and let me tell you, it was just as MAGICAL as you could imagine, even moreso. Honestly, I got emotional a couple times just because I knew ten year old Ahlin would have just died to experience this.

Never ever too old for HP. Or countless snapchat filters.

Hello. It’s me.

Adele was beautiful, hilarious, perfect and probably my best friend in another life. I was so lucky to see her with my concert partner Stephen and Angie and Sara. Bless Adele for blessing us with her presence.

Part of me is made of glass.

Gina and I haven’t lived together or even near each other since 2008. So spending 28 hours in each other’s constant presence was nothing short of a magical gift straight from the California gods.

Multiple Taco Bell trips, Olympic ceremonies, LA traffic, a LACMA photo shoot, Pokemon Go along the beach, and lots of family time. I’ll keep this trip close to my heart for a long time.

Lucia Ahlin.

My grandma Lucia Ahlin Johnson Griffith passed away at the end of July and we were able to attend her memorial in Long Beach a couple weeks later. It was really sweet to hear the memories from different neighborhood “kids” and how she affected the people around her. She was a generous lady who wasn’t afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. I can still hear the way she said “I love you, Ahlin” and I never doubted that she meant it.

I loved being with my family. My siblings are my very favorite people in the whole world and hanging out with them is my number one favorite life activity.

We can never resist a good group pic.

Eight years ago. Wowowowowowwww.

I Havasupai problem.

Yeah.

Angie Johnson asked me if I wanted to go to havasupai next month. I said sure! I’ve wanted to go for ten years! Then I found out it was actually next week. WHAT.

So after stressing about it slightly and convincing my boss this was an OPPORTUNITY and I would just ALWAYS REGRET not going and I just HAD to go, I bought me some gear (um why did no one tell me being outdoorsy was mega expensive) and some food (you mean I have to carry everything that I am going to eat for three days?!), packed it all up and headed to the Grand Canyon.

Favorite moments: Hiking in at 2 am so we got to the campground just as the sun was coming up, the horses the scared the crap out of me on the hike down, sleeping slash spend all my down time in a hammock, challenging my fear of cliff jumping, singing TSwift and Britney while playing Mow (sp?), making everyone say “Ahlin is my queen”, waking up next to a river every morning, hiking out and getting caught in the sunny summer rain.

I love pushing my body to see what it can do and I love exploring this earth and just getting to be in awe and so grateful for it.
